Reasons to Choose Kenya for your Next Safari

I came across a TikTok comment from a traveller, “my experience touring Kenya was more fun than I expected; one of the best ones yet.” The comment was attached to a video of someone touring. The comment motivated me to educate our audience on what Kenyan safaris entail and why they are among the best top options in Africa.

  1. The Big Five

You get to see the big five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceros and the African elephant. Kenya hosts the big five across different national parks and game reserves, for example, Maasai Mara, Tsavo, Amboseli, and Mt.Kenya, among others. As most of us know, most of these species are vulnerable, but Kenya has various conservation sites. You get to see these animals up-close. The encounter across the Kenyan Savannah is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience.

  1. The Eighth Wonder of the World

The wildebeest migration is deemed the eighth wonder of the world, and I can promise that it’s a spectacular sight. With the perfect timing, that is, between July and October annually, you get to see the wildebeests migrate between Maasai Mara National Park (Kenya) and the Serengeti (Tanzania). Below is a sneak peek of what you would expect- but better!

  1. Beautiful Animals

On your safari, you will also encounter numerous beautiful animals. You get to see zebras, elegant gazelles, different bird species and many more that you can imagine. Another spectacular sight you might encounter, depending on where you visit, is feeding giraffes, otherwise known in Kenya’s national language as twiga. You can also have breakfast with them at giraffe manor.

  1. Let’s not forget about Hippos…

I believe that hippos are some of the forgotten amazing creatures around the world; maybe it’s because they mind their business. On a safari, you won’t miss out on seeing these creatures. You can see them while you take a boat ride across L. Naivasha. You can also get to see these creatures swim first-hand underwater at Mzima Springs. It’s like having a first-class ticket to nature. Let’s not forget that you’ll get to see other water animals in the process. Imagine having breakfast while seeing beautiful wildlife a few meters from you. Don’t let this worry you; it’s perfectly safe, and you’re also always protected by guides.

  1. Balloon Safaris

Have you ever seen a photo of a friend or a random person and wished it were you? I come across photos of people taking hot air balloon rides. Before I had a chance to take one, I would always envy them. You can access hot air balloon rides in most parts of the world. However, imagine this, a ride with spice and seasoning. Yes, that’s what you’ll get from a balloon safari. You can get in a hot air balloon with friends, even alone, but the memory will be unforgettable. You get to have a picnic while watching animals roam free in their habitats below you. It’s one of the most satisfying experiences you might have. If you’re lucky enough, you might catch a glimpse of the wildebeest migration in the process. However, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and get peace of mind you never imagined.
